The election of Donald J Trump has resulted in an all-out breakdown of decency in political commentary and American affairs. What about this President makes everyone so angry? Moreover, why has this President, more than any other President in history, been under constant attack and scrutiny? It is the role of the media and the American people to have an opinion and challenge our President and his or her administration to ensure accountability. But when commentary and discourse become so one-sided, so hateful, so divisive, and so polluted with partisanship, it degrades the fabric of the civic environment essential for balance, constructive political debate, and harmony, leaving only hate speech anchored in total and complete nonsense.
The purpose of this podcast is to challenge nonsense wherever and whenever it occurs regardless of political affiliation. As Sicilians, we are uniquely qualified for such a task. We see everything, but when needed we see nothin. We smile and nod in the face of absolute ignorance. We understand loyalty and in wronging one of us, you have wronged all of us. And finally, we judge, oh boy do we judge. We judge those who need judging. So, in challenging nonsense we will do so Sicilian style, this is our contribution in attempting to balance the political narrative. We will strive to hold the political powers that be accountable, to defend the reasonable and confront any and all one-sided ideologies, opinions, and commentaries, whether it be right or left leaning political agendas. Those who participate in overly emotional argument and opinion rooted in nothing more than bellyaching, aimed at distorting fact and promoting descension will be the target of this shows war on the nonsensical.
